Nana Jean Head for Home

June 29, 2005 · Leave a Comment

Nana headed for home this morning and Daddy took you back to school. I know you enjoyed getting to know Nana a bit more and she truly loved every minute she had with you. Have fun in school today and I will see you in just a few hours.

Fall on the Stairs

June 28, 2005 · Leave a Comment

What a scary day that was on Monday afternoon when I was carrying you down the stairs and I tripped on the top step. You were in my right arm. When I knew we were in trouble my left arm went around your back to protect you somehow. That left no arms or hands to cushion our fall and the bottom landing is hard ceramic tile. Somehow my brain had us turn to the right where my right elbow came to slide on the rail. Then both of my legs and knees went into the right trim at the bottom of the rail. It was a painful landing as we scrapped on the trim before coming to a stop. But we did not fall completely down and you were very frightened, but unhurt. Daddy came running from downstairs, thinking it was Nana Jean that was carrying you and falling down the stairs. It scarred him plenty and he started to cry fearing the worst. It took a few minutes to calm you down and daddy & I checked to make sure you were not hurt. But all turned out OK. I have a skinned right shin, a bruised left knee cap and the top of my left foot hurts a bit yet. No broken bones and the healing has already begun. It still makes me pause before taking the steps with you in my arms. You are our pride & joy and can’t imagine if something happened to you.

I know you probably don’t look at it as school, but you are home today with Daddy & Nana Jean and not at Montessori school. Enjoy your day.

I have 6 pictures of you up in my cubicle at work, which I look at frequently during the day.  I am amazed at how much you change every day.  We are so blessed to have you in our family

Grandma comes today, we might not get to hold you as much, but we will get so much done while she is here that we will feel even better about the time we get to spend with you, because we won’t feel like we are behind with yard work.

Madison

Madison, around June 10th you started to look around more and just observe what was going on.  You followed Barney around and when we left a room, your neck stretched out to see if we missed anything in that room before we left.
You are just adorable.

On Friday or Saturday June 18th you started to say Ba Ba, many times in a row. Not sure if it is bye bye, Barney or just rambling.
