Toddler Room

May 31, 2006 · Leave a Comment

You moved to the toddler room on May 22nd (the first day back from vacation). I think it was tougher on me then it was for you.

There are new rules to follow. No sippy cups, you are supposed to drink from a glass, although the teachers in the morning say it is OK to use a sippy for breakfast before Miss Jenny gets in. No bibs, so quite often your shirt is dirty and or wet when you come home at night. We have been practicing using a glass at home and you do well when you are thirsty. Once you are not thirsty you tend to pour it on yourself or your tray. You also sit at the table with the other kids, who all seem so much bigger then you. You were the oldest in the infant room, now you are the youngest and probably the smallest in the toddler room.

There is no microwave or refrigerator, so we need to pack your lunch and breakfast a little differently, but most days you have the catered lunch. Many days we send berries or bananas or yogurt for breakfast, but this morning Miss Kristin informed me that you like the cereal that the other kids have in the morning, so we will get you your own box of cereal for tommorrow.

I also forgot to mention your musical concert that happened a few weeks before vacation. You can find the video of it here.

First Haircut

You had your first hair cut today. We went to Kid’s Hair where you got to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog on TV while they cut your hair. You did not have that much to cut, but one side was a little longer then the other and we did not want you to have a Donald Trump comb over, so we got it trimmed up. You were great and smiled the whole time. It was quick and over in 10 minutes.

Swimming

May 29, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Today we went out swimming. Your pool is actually a sandbox in the shape of a lady bug. So you call your pool “Bug”. In the yard are about 4 baby bunnies that we found. So you now walk around the yard saying “Bunny” almost like you are commanding them to appear.

Eat & Bicycle

Today you walked over to your high chair and said “Eat”. When we tried to put you in your chair you said “NO” pointed to a kitchen chair and said “Sit”. You said “Yogo” and “Berrie”. Yogos are yogurt candies and berries are dried cranberries. We are also trying to teach you Thank You today.

After your noon nap, we went for a bike ride and you rode in your bike trailer. You enjoyed it and laughed, but got a little warm toward the end of the ride.

Butterfly

Today you walked over to the patio door and said “Outside”. While outside you tried to follow a monarch butterfly and learned to say “Butterfly” and “Inside”. Later you pointed to the refrigerator and said “Magnet”.
It seems like you are learning new words every day.

On Sunday we stopped to see your cousin’s and it was Danee’s graduation. While they are a bit older then you, you still had fun playing with them. In this picture you are peeking through the rails of their front porch.

Reunion

May 20, 2006 · Leave a Comment

We got back from Aruba on Friday about noon. We really did miss you and thought about you every day. Donna said you were really good and only got a bit crabby on the 5th day. We stayed over at Nana Jean’s on Friday night and will head to your cousin’s on Sunday. It has been a long week for you and your routine has been pretty jumbled, but you did great.

Tuscola

May 12, 2006 · Leave a Comment

We got to Tuscola late Wednessday evening. We had been practicing saying some names before we go there, so you were able to say Donna, Gacie (Gracie), Nana, Dougie and Elon (Leon). On Friday night you were standing on Donna’s couch looking in the mirror and said “I see Madison”. We visited with few people before we left for our trip very early Saturday morning. It was very hard for us to say good bye and leave you behind for a week, even though we knew you were in good hands.

Running in the Rain

May 8, 2006 · Comments Off

We had a little rain storm tonight just after supper.  You and daddy ran around on the deck in the rain.  You liked it so much that you threw a little fit when you had to come in.

Red Wagon

May 4, 2006 · Comments Off

We got you a red wagon this past weekend. I put it together last night, but it has been too cool or windy to get out and use it. You did sit in it on the driveway and seemed anxious to go for a ride. Hopefully this weekend weather will be nicer.

Names

May 3, 2006 · Comments Off

We have been practicing names of family you will see in about a week.  So far you do well with Donna, Grace, Nana.  And at daycare you know MeMe (Mary) and Net (Annette).  You will be moving to Toddlers on your first day back from vacation.

Brushing Teeth

May 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

This last weekend we switched over to a new tooth brush for you. You really like to brush your teeth. I have a couple of pictures, but you don’t look like you are having fun, so I am going to take a few more.
