Baker Jack

We have sort of started a tradition of stopping at Jack’s Bakery on Fridays to get donut holes. Today (Wednesday) as we left the house, you said “Baker Jack, Donuts, Baker Jack, Donuts”.

Shot glasses

For Thanksgiving we purchased the Jones Soda assortment of desert flavored drinks. It was a hit last year with Sarah & Hanah. Last year they were flavors like, Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, Dressing, Potatoes. This year you were old enough to try and they were a little better, like Blueberry Pie. You had fun and gave a few funny looks on some of the flavors.

Happy Birthday Song!

Today you practiced singing “happy birthday” with daddy. When the time came to bring out the cake you wouldn’t sing along with daddy, but then just a few minutes later you sang it all by your self. Too bad we did not have the video camera ready.

Barney’s Grass

About once a month we buy wheat grass for Barney to eat and play with, we usually set it on the rug by the kitchen sink.  This morning as we were getting ready to leave you walked over, bent down and said “Good Bye Barney’s Grass”.

Mine

You learned “Mine” as in “Mucky is mine”, quite some time ago, however you are now using it in a slightly incorrect sense.  As in “go to bathroom to wash mine hands”.

Stop & Go

You have learned that Green means GO and Red means Stop when we come to the intersections.  So now you say stop and go or where’ green?

Left & Right

You have pretty much figured out your left & right. You asked me to put on your Elmo shoes and as I started to put the first one on said “Left Shoe”.
And for the next foot said “Right Shoe”.

Poop

Tonight you used the potty chair for Poop for the first time.  You have figured out that you get a sticker for each time you are successful on the potty chair.

School Conference

We had your first school conference today. Ms. Jenni mentioned that you are not that fond of group time in the morning. You have trouble sitting still and paying attention for 30 minutes. The other day your shoe came off and you wanted the shoe back on. This of course interupted group time. Then a few minutes later your shoe came off again. Finally the third time your shoe came off she noticed that you were trying to get your shoe off, because it was a disruption to group time. Ms. Jenni asked if you wanted to go to the library until you got your shoe back on and you said yes. The next morning you grabbed your shoe, pulled it off, held it up and said “library”. How clever are you?

You do like the rhythm sticks that are used in group. So at the end of group, Ms. Jenni said loud enough for you to hear that rhythm sticks were next. Out of the corner of her eye she could see you frantically trying to get your shoe back on.

Talking in your sleep!

Last night about midnight I heard you talking, you said “dirty, dirty, mud is dirty, mud is dirty.”  And then about a half hour later I heard you stir and say “it’s a moon, the moon.”

We have potty!

For the last several weeks you have shown occasional interest in the potty chair in the bath room. Tonight just before your bath, you said “go potty”, so we walked to the bathroom, you started to pull down pants, and I removed your diaper. As soon as you sat down we had potty. So we put a sticker on the wall and praised you for your accomplishment.
