You love to watch Dora on TV. Tonight she was putting together a puzzle of a pirate ship. She would point to a spot on the ship and ask which piece went there. You would say “there it is”, but we were too far away from to the TV to really know if you were pointing at the correct piece. It got down to 3 pieces and you said “the one on the left”, and that was correct.

Really Warm
May 29, 2007 · Comments Off
Tonight while eating supper you were having bacon and said, “It is hot, blow on it”. I said it shouldn’t be hot I already blew on it. Your response “Blow on it, it is really warm”.
We have had to start a new bed time routine, since the rail for your crib is off. You are inclined to crawl out of bed and go to your bedroom door, so we now start by reading a few books, then rocking for a bit and then to bed. You are doing everything possible to draw that time out. Last night we rocked until almost 10 pm.
I’m Poopy
May 27, 2007 · Comments Off
For quite a while you have been telling us when you are poopy or when you are going poop. But over the weekend you added, “I’m Poopy, There is bread in my diaper”. Sometimes you say “I don’t want to see poop”, but tonight you said “I want to see the poop”. I am hoping this will all make potty training all the more easy.
Comfurbul

Tonight we decided that you were ready to try your crib with the side rail removed. A couple of times in the last week we caught you with a foot on top of the rail like you about ready to climb out so we thought it was time. We spent a few minutes earlier in the evening practicing getting in and out of bed. One time you laid your head on your pillow and said, “This is comfurbul”. At bed time daddy read a few stories and made sure you would lie down in your bed before he left. So far so good.
Grandpa & Grandma

Grandpa & Grandma got here last night to visit for the weekend. You got to play with Grandma while we and Grandpa worked out side. You went to the park, rode your trike, and went to visit with the neighbors. At noon we left to go to a wedding out of town.
What you doing?
May 17, 2007 · Comments Off
The phrase of the week. “What you doing?” Almost immediatly followed by “I do it”. Even when we are cooking supper you want to help, either stirring, pouring, mixing or pushing buttons on the microwave. You know that the stove is hot, but we continue to warn you to keep away. You probably won’t really know what HOT means until you touch a hot pan or kettle.
Rocking
May 14, 2007 · Comments Off
Tonight like several in the past few weeks you want to rock for a few minutes before going to bed. The first time you did it you said, “I want to rock”. We rocked for maybe a minute at most and said “I am ready to go to bed”. Tonight we rocked for maybe 10 minutes and your breathing was changing so I figured you were asleep, so I whispered in your ear “are you ready to go to bed”. You gently shook your head no, then maybe 10 seconds later you whispered back to me, “I am ready now”. As I put you down I said “I love you, you were a good girl today”, you responded “yes, I did my nebby and took my bath and talked to Betty”. Another precious moment.
Well OK!

Lately you have a new phrase. When we ask you a question like, do you want juice, or do you want to ride your tricycle, you will pause and then say “Well OK”. Over the weekend papa was busy working on putting shelves in the new garage and you came out to inspect. You looked at the hole in the ceiling and then an opening in the wall and said “This looks like a booby trap”. We think you picked that phrase up from “Backyardigans”, or “Little Einsteins” on an episode where they were looking at art in a museum.
You met the new neighbor girl, although I can’t remember her name. She and her little sister each had helium balloons and she gave you hers to keep. You played with them for a little bit and then you said “thank you”, and we went home for a bath.
Fruit Lips

Today was a bit rainy, so you weren’t able to play outside. But you did look out the window at the yellow tulips and say “Yellow Fruit Lips”. Later in the afternoon you were riding your little pink car inside and every time you put on your pink visor you said “Yee Haw”.
Oopsy Daisy!

Each morning on the way to school you look for school buses. This morning you saw several yellow buses and then said “there is a purple bus”, and when it passed in front of us at the intersection you said “weeeeeeeee”. Lately you might drop something and then say, “Oopsy Daisy”. It is the new phrase of the week.
Tonight you had your spring concert at school.
You sang great and knew words to all of the songs.
