Target

Tonight while rocking just before going to sleep you asked for water or juice. We are trying to stop water and juice earlier each night in preparation for potty training. So I said no water after snack time. You turned to me and said “go Target snacks and juice”.

Reading to Bear

For a while now you will pick up a book and pretend to read it.  Sometimes to us or just to read.  You make up the stories, but often they are close to the actual book you are holding.  Tonight you picked up the “opposites” book and read it to your little bear.  Then you said “OK bear time for night night.  Go to sleep now”.

Camping

This weekend we are camping by Cannon Falls.  It is a smaller campground, but they have a nice beach and playground.  Here is a picture of you at the beach late in the afternoon.

Earlier in the day we spent a good hour or so at the playground.

Oh Man!

On the show Dora the Explorer they say Oh Man.  Last night when you were in bed, we sang row row your boat for a few minutes.  I said that you needed to go to sleep and that Papa was going to his bed.  Your response was “Oh man, papa is going to his bed”.

Fall out of bed

It has been several weeks now since we took the side rail off your crib.  I think only twice have we found you on the floor in the morning.  Last night when I checked you were lying diagonal with one arm over the edge of your bed and facing the wall.  As I was about to leave you turned over and just as you were about to roll off the bed your arm went up in the air to stabalize yourself.  You then rolled the other direction and avoided a fall to the floor and never opened an eye.    You must have good balance, even while sound asleep.

Birthday Party

You had a busy weekend. We left Thursday after work to head to grandma & grandpa’s home. On Friday morning uncle Mike brought Sarah & Hannah and we all left for Ashley for a big birthday party. We stayed at Grandma Helen’s house and then went to a 90th birthday party for Grandma Millie. You had a good time running around with all the other little kids.

Why

I thought for a moment that we were entering the “Why” stage.  On Tuesday evening most all conversations were peppered with “Why?”

But Wednesday came and went without another why question.  That stage will come soon enough.

Best Friend

Somewhat of a rainy weekend, you did not get to play outside much.

Each night at bed time, daddy usually reads a couple of stories then you want me to lay by you, either on they floor beside your bed, or my head on your bed.  Sometimes we sing a few songs, or rock for a few minutes.  The other night you patted my head and said “go sleep papa”.  Last night you used one of your muckys to cover me up.  Tonight you patted my shoulder and said “you’re my best friend” and then laid your head down to sleep.
