Swimming

Auntie Joan and Scarlett came over today to go swimming. It was a nice sunny day in the backyard pool.

Peter Pan

Tonight while watching TV you said “I want to watch Bambi”, I said we don’t have Bambi, you said “how about Peter Pan”, I said we don’t have Peter Pan either.  You responded with “buy me Peter Pan”.

Grandpa & Grandma’s Place

We spent the weekend up at Grandpa & Grandma’s place on the lake. Sarah & Hannah also came up for the weekend. A wagon ride with Grandma.

You thought you were so cleaver sneaking over to water the neighbors flowers.

On the way home you slept most of the way.  You woke as soon as we pulled into the driveway to say, “I had fun at Grandpa & Grandma’s. I had fun with Sarah & Hannah”.

Oval

In your bedroom there is a picture of your Great Grammy as a child.  While reading with daddy, you looked up and said “who is that girl in the oval?”

Dusty

We went camping this weekend at Kamp Dels. The hightlight for you was riding Dusty the pony. You got to ride him for 30 minutes and loved every minute of it. You weren’t at all afraid of getting on him.

Bored

Today while watching the little mermaid video you sighed a couple of times. I asked you what was wrong and you said, “I am a little bored”.

3 Star Day

Today you had 3 accidents, but also earned 3 stars.  2 for going potty and 1 for poopy.  Tonight we were playing outside and you said, “I need some juice and then go potty”.  We went inside you drank a lot of juice and then took your time walking down the hall and getting ready to do your business.  You sat on the potty and in just a few seconds said “The poopy is out of me”.  You just about have the process down.  We are very proud of you.

This morning you woke to wet and poopy underwear.  We were somewhat relieved because at least we knew you weren’t constipated any more.  2 potty accidents during the day and actually dry underwear after your afternoon nap.  Finally tonight you were quite uncomfortable again and around 8:30pm we put you on the potty and you went both potty and poop.  You had a surprised, somewhat frightened and then relieved look on your face. You said, “I got the poopy out, I got the poopy out”.  You were very excited and we loaded on the praise.  You got to put another star on your chart and got a treat chocolate ice cream and a prize of Jello flavored lip gloss.  We know you like lip gloss.  We are very hopeful that tomorrow will be even smoother now that you  know what to expect on the potty chair.  Then the plan is to go back to school on Tuesday.  You did a great job today!

Potty Day 2

We are getting a bit discouraged and you seem at times agitated, uncomfortable or unsure.  Only 3 potty accidents, no successes and no poop.  It is 2 days now and we are a bit concerned.  Tonight you said your tummy hurt, probably from being a bit constipated.  You have obviously figured out how to hold it.

Potty Day 1

Today was day one of potty training. You had 11 potty accidents in your new panties, then on the 12th you told me you had to go potty and we sort of made it to the potty chair in time, with only a little bit hitting the floor. Number 13 was an accident again. Not sure what to expect for the first day, but then it is Friday the 13th.

Peeped

This weekend is the planned 3 day potty training session.  We have been talking about it for a few days and you are looking forward to wearing big girl panties.  Today when I picked you up from school you said, “Papa, I peeped in the potty today”.  You also have been telling your teachers that you are getting Dora panties this weekend.

Camping weekend

We had a fun weekend camping at St. Croix Bluffs park near Hastings, MN.  You were busy collecting pine cones when you weren’t on the playground.

It’s Beautiful

Last weekend we started building your back yard play set. On the 4th of July we finished it. When you walked out back to see it you said, “it’s beautiful”.

Actually

You started using a new word this weekend.  We passed a car pulling a boat and we said “see the boat” and you responded “well actually…”  Then when we said “we are almost at Target, see the bullseye” and you responded “well actually it is a D”.
