This afternoon you had your first nightmare, or at least one that caused you to wake up. It was close to the normal time you would wake up from a nap when woke up crying saying “stop the frogs from biting my neck”. When daddy got to your room you were standing and pointing to your bed and upset about the frogs that were in the bed and biting your neck. We explained several times that it was just a dream or a make believe story and that we don’t allow frogs in the house.

Ears & Hands

This morning you woke up and said my ear hurts, “It has sand in it”. Since you have had an occasional fever since Thursday it was entirely possible you had another ear infection. We headed over to PIP for a urgent care appointment this morning. Sure enough it was a slight ear infection and a possible case of strep throat. The antibiotic will treat both.
Tonight we went out for dinner at a little Mexican place. You were sitting in a highchair between us. At one time we both had a hand on your chair, so you grabbed both of our hands and put them together in front of you and said, “Hold Hands”.
Later in the evening you asked me to do something and when I did you said “Good job papa, give me five”.

You have been working on the pronouncing the letters of the alphabet and last night you said. “Buh Buh Barney, Buh Buh Baby, Buh Buh Cookie.” It was a funny progression.

Tonight while reading a picture book with different letters & numbers you started to count in Spanish. You counted all the way to eight “Ocho”.
Mail It

On my desk I have a small plastic case to hold a tape for the video camera. Inside I have a green & orange sticker that I alternate to indicate whether the tape is full or empty. Tonight it caught your eye, so you carried it around for a while. When we were getting ready to go to bed and we did our last trip to the potty, you were holding it while sitting on the toilet. You said “hold up your hand, I want to mail it”. So I held up my hand but you said, “no so I can mail it”, then you pushed my hand over just under the toilet paper holder. You then dropped the small box behind the paper roll, which was close to the wall you turned the roll back and the plastic box dropped into my hand. We did that for dozen more times before heading to bed. As you fell asleep in the rocking chair you tightly clutched the box in your hand and are sleeping with it now.
