Halloween

Today was a busy day. You started by having a party at school at 9:30 and we both came to help with the party. You had lots of fun games and treats. Several weeks ago when you were asked about a costume, you said you wanted to be a princess kitty. After some internet searching and a few bucks, daddy found this costume complete with ears, crown & tail.

Then tonight we put your costume back on and went trick or treating at about a dozen neighbors.

Later during your bath you got on your hands and knees and stuck your bottom in the air and said something about booty. When we said what, you said, “shake my booty”. Something new you must have learned in school today.

3 year exam

You had your 3 year exam today with Dr. Karen. You are A-Ok in tip top shape and even had your first eye exam. You read several rows on the eye chart and knew what all of the letters were. You are 34 1/2 inches tall and 26 pounds. Dr. Karen asked you several questions that you knew most of the answers to and some in both English and Spanish. She then had you draw a few pictures for her. She said you are very smart and we should start looking now at what school we might send you to once you reach first grade. She listed several private schools for us to consider. Uh oh, get out the big check book.

And tonight you had swimming lessons and had visitors (Betty & Kim).

Pumpkin Carving

Tonight was pumpkin carving.  We laid out plastic on the kitchen floor ands starting out by gutting out the pumpkins.  You had fun pulling out the slimy insides and then helped cut, carve and decorate them.

Germs

Tonight when Daddy picked you up from school, he picked up your mucky which had a spot on it.  When he asked you what was on mucky, you looked at him with a serious face and said, “germs”.

Eating Machine

The last few days you have become an eating machine.  It must be a new growth spurt, or possibly another side effect of starting nebby.

Nebby

It is fall again and we started your nebulizer about a week ago.  You are doing really well this time and not fighting it at all.  I think the only thing we notice is that it makes you a bit cranky or irritable.  But that only lasts for a little while, we hope.  Tonight you are very tired just like you are most Monday’s.  The first day back at school really tires you out.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch while Nana was in town. We found an apple orchard that is close by that also sells pumpkins. You got to pick a few apples on the walk to the patch and then you picked out several pumpkins for Halloween.

After picking out pumpkins we went back to the store and had snacks and bought a few apples.

Computer

For your birthday you also got your first computer.  You particularly like the Dora games that came with it.  The first day was a bit frustrating with the keyboard and mouse, but you are learning them quickly.

Pumpkin Patch

This morning we went to the pumpkin patch. You got to help Nana pick out 5 pumpkins. After we paid for the pumpkins and had them sent to the parking lot, we went and had a snack. We then went into the barn to pick up some apples & donuts.

And you even had a few more birthday presents to open.

Doors

This week you have mastered doors.  You are now tall enough to reach the door knobs and your hands are just large enough for you to grab door knobs and turn them.  Tonight you would go into the bedroom or bathroom and close the door and say “somebody find me”, but if we waited long enough you would open the door and come out on your own.

Big Day

Today was a big day. You turned 3 and daddy and nana brought cupcake treats to your classroom in the morning. After supper you opened some of your birthday gifts. Your response to one gift was “oh my gosh, it is beautiful”.

Then we dashed to school for an evening session where you showed us some of the work that you do each day. There was a box with slots and numbers and then wooden dowels. You had to count out the correct number of dowels to put in each slot.

Then you showed us a color tile matching box and a board with different sized pegs that you had to remove and replace.

Last was a tray with 3 glass containers that you poured beans from one container to the next.

Then once we got home we had cake and sang happy birthday.

After all of this you fell asleep quite quickly.

Oh my gosh!

Your new phrase is “Oh my gosh”, and you are using it often.  It was another rainy weekend so we did not do much out side.  On Saturday we baby sat for your niece Haleigh and you had fun playing with her and said “baby Haleigh is my sister”.  This morning when you woke you said “where is baby Haleigh”.  Hopefully she will make it to your birthday party next week.

That’s not nice

For several weeks now you have been saying “That’s not nice”. So when the Matician turns the elephants into stone you will say, “That’s not nice”.

Oops!

Tonight while taking your bath, you had a sudden startled look on your face and then said, “Oops, I went poop in the bath tub”.  It was funny to see your expression.

Matician

Tonight while rocking to sleep you sat up and said “we don’t have any maticians?”  I think you meant magicians.  Then you said  “on Diego the matician took the zebras stripes”.   Once I assured you we had no maticians you quickly went to sleep.

Grandma & Grandpa

It sounds like you had a good time with Grandma & Grandpa while we were gone.  You got to play on the playground, go for walks and even get caught in a rain storm.

Vacation

We go on vacation in a few days, so we have been telling you about Grandma and Grandpa coming to visit and you seem excited to see them.

Birthday

Tonight on the way home from swimming lessons you said something about your birthday so we asked when your birthday was and you said, “Octofer 17, I will be free.”

Fingers & Toes

I think you have just gone through another growth spurt. Your hands look bigger and your toes and fingers look longer. Maybe you will play piano when you are a little older.
